Gordon Patrick Frole, age 75, of Butler, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
Born May 17, 1946 in Butler, he was a son of the late Joseph L. and Esther Mendicino Frole.
A graduate of Butler High School, Gordon attended Slippery Rock University, where he studied Hospitality Management.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the Vietnam War.
Gordon was a member of All Saints Parish, Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.
He was a member of the Sons and Daughters of Italy, where he spent many hours volunteering for the good of the club. Everyone there knew him as “Uncle Gordy”.
One of his favorite pastimes was playing gin with his buddies.
He was loved by so many, and he will be dearly missed.
Gordon is survived by two sisters, Mona L. Frole and Nancy J. Frole, both of Silver Spring, Md. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph L. Frole; his mother, Esther Mendicino Frole; and his brother, Joseph A. Frole.
Friends will be received at All Saints Parish, Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler, on Monday, March 21, from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m.
Burial will take place at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by VFW Post 249, American Legion Post 778, and American Legion Post 117.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Good Samaritan Hospice at Cabot, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.
The family also thanks the nurses and Angels on Call who provided care to Gordon during this difficult time.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Ave., Butler.
