Governor Tom Wolf is calling on the legislature to provide more funding for small businesses.
Wolf says he wants $225 million from the federal CARES Act money to be directed to small businesses in the form of forgivable loans and grants.
He also said a significant chunk of money should go to the hospitality industry.
“In addition, I’m calling on the legislature to direct another $100 million in forgivable loans and grants to the hospitality, leisure, and service industry,” Wolf said. “That’s bars, hotels, restaurants. They’ve been really hammed by the pandemic, and I think we need to do some things here in Pennsylvania.”
$96 million was originally distributed to small businesses in June.
