Governor Tom Wolf is continuing his push to make college more affordable for college students.
Wolf is asking for support for the Nellie Bly Scholarship; a proposal to help students at state supported higher education institutions.
“This is a needs-based scholarship and its going to help students attending community college or one of our 14 state system universities to cover the real cost of college. That includes room, board, books, supplies, and graduation expenses,” Wolf said.
One of the requirements for the scholarship is that the student must stay in Pennsylvania for work equal to the amount of time they benefitted from the scholarship.
Wolf is proposing to help pay for the plan using American Rescue Plan funding.
