Governor Tom Wolf is continuing his push to use nearly $2 billion in federal funds for property tax relief.
Wolf says that his plan calls for using $204 million from the American Rescue Plan for the tax rebate program.
“I want to double the rebate of every participant in the program. This is one way that we can help take some of the pressure off of older adults on a fixed income,” Wolf said. “The best part about it is that we can do it using federal dollars, that are just sitting there in Pennsylvania’s bank account.”
If the rebate tax program is approved, Wolf estimates that around 466,000 state residents would receive an average rebate of $475.
