Governor Tom Wolf is offering his reaction to the “yes” votes on the amendment questions that will strip the governor of some emergency powers.
“It’s up for us to make this work. We have some new rules, so we have to make it work,” Wolf said. “Actually that was the message from the voters and citizens of Pennsylvania, let’s make this work.”
Wolf also added that he’s ready to move on following the vote.
“We had a long period to see how the current system works, and I think there was some thought that maybe we could do better. So I’m looking forward to working with the legislature on how we can make this work.”
The new amendments will reduce the length of an emergency declaration and will also give the legislature a voice in ending an emergency order.
