Grace Weiland, 93, of Butler, passed away October 11, 2023 at New Haven Court. The youngest of ten, she was born July 9, 1930 to the late Albert and Hanna McCarren Green in Fenelton, PA. She was a graduate of Butler High School, class of 1948.
She married her husband Robert in 1953 and they lived a long and beautiful life together. She worked with him as part of Robert Weiland Construction Company for over 40 years. A devout Catholic, she was most recently a member of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, and prior to that a longstanding member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church.
In her early years, she enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, traveling to Florida, and visiting their camp in Kane, PA. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers. She was known affectionately by her friends and family as Amazing Grace. She truly was amazing and found the joy in all of life’s moments.
Surviving are her daughters, Robin (Ron) Hasychak of West Sunbury and Michele (Joe) Kasunich of Butler; her grandchildren, Kristen (Travis) Clouse, Taylor (Chad) Kaltenbach, Justin Kasunich, Tyler Kasunich and Alyssa Kasunich; her great-grandsons, Braden and Logan Clouse; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert and their daughter Deborah Weiland and granddaughter Ashley Hasychak, her four brothers, James, Joseph, John, and Bert and her five sisters, Mary, Margaret, Eileen, Hanna, and Agnes.
In Lieu of Flowers, donations me be made to the Ashley Hasychak Memorial Scholarship Fund, 911 West Sunbury Road, West Sunbury, PA 16061.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, at 10:00 am, at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, 210 St. Wendelin Road. Rev. Matt McClain, Pastor to officiate. Burial will be in St. Wendelin’s Parish Cemetery.
