A ‘Remembrance & Celebration of Life Rally’ will be held Wednesday at a downtown Butler recovery center.
The public is invited to attend this free annual event from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Grapevine Center on North Elm Street. The center is a mental illness and addiction treatment facility.
This ceremony will commemorate and celebrate the lives of seven Grapevine members who have passed away in the last year. Butler County Commissioner Kevin Boozel is scheduled to provide the keynote address.
Officials say people with mental illness die an average of 10 to 20 years earlier than other people and the incidence of mental illness is increasing. This week is Mental Health Awareness Week.
