Area residents of all ages are invited out to Moraine State Park this weekend for an afternoon of fun.
Park officials will welcome visitors on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. for a Ground Hog Stomp. As part of the day, participants will be led on a fun hike beginning at Pleasant Valley on the South Shore.
The hike, which will be determined by the weather and the group’s preference, will be followed by hot chocolate and a ground hog craft.
Participants are asked to bring their own snacks and water, and to wear sturdy shoes. Officials also say that severe weather will cancel the event. No actual ground hogs will be stomped during this event.
