A national organization is raising awareness about the cost of food in Butler County today.
American’s for Prosperity-Pennsylvania (AFP-PA) will be at Sprankle’s Grocery in Saxonburg from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. speaking with customers about inflation’s impact on food prices.
The AFP-PA are on their “Prosperity is Possible” tour with the goal of “focusing on empowering individuals and businesses to achieve their full potential.” They aim to achieve this by reducing the size of government.
But according to Ashley Klingensmith, AFP-PA State Director, they are calling onto congress to act now.
“We are connecting people across the nation with the fact that we do not need to settle for the current scarcity we have right now if Congress would address inflation, unleash energy abundance, and really fuel a flexible workforce,” Klingensmith said.
They will also be giving out free $47 gift cards to the first 50 guests along with food and swag. The dollar amount is to represent 4.7 percent inflation in food prices.
The inflation reduction act was signed on this day last year.
