Police are once again advising residents to use caution before giving out personal information to questionable callers.
According to Grove City Police, a resident received a call on April 10th from a male with a foreign accent using a California phone number.
The male offered a refund to the victim and asked for the victim’s bank account information. Money was then taken from the victim’s account.
Residents should never give personal or financial information to unknown or suspicious persons over the phone. Only do so when it is a reliable or verifiable business with which the resident has initiated contact. If a scam is suspected, contact police to verify information.
