As Pittsburgh awaits the arrival of one of Broadway’s hottest shows—officials warn of a scam that is circulating.
The hip-hop musical Hamilton has been one of Broadway’s most popular shows, and tickets are often rare. When the show comes to Pittsburgh for a four week run in January 2019—many are looking to secure tickets as soon as they come available. But the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust says if you see tickets online for sale right now—they are not real.
Tickets won’t go on sale until the fall and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust says verified tickets will only be sold through their website, phone center, or box office.
To find out when Hamilton tickets go on sale, you can check the Cultural Trust’s website or sign up for their email list.
**An earlier version of this story said tickets currently on sale on VividSeats.com were fraudulent. A spokesperson from Vivid Seats told our newsroom that those seats on their website are legitimate. However, if a purchase is made and the tickets do not arrive in time for the show, Vivid Seats will reimburse the customer the ticket price and the service fees.
