An annual New Year tradition is returning once again to the Harmony area this weekend.
The Silvester Celebration is set for Sunday in Historic Harmony. The yearly event celebrates the German heritage of the Harmony area and rings in the New Year on German time.
The festivities begin at 3 p.m. afternoon with the 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Fun Run. Registrations are still being accepted—more information is available by clicking here.
The day also includes the Christmas Tree toss competition in the Harmony Museum parking lot and a pork and sauerkraut dinner. Right now, only the 3 p.m. dinner has available seating. But, take out dinners are available throughout the evening.
The evening wraps up with a ball drop and fireworks at 6 p.m.—which is midnight in Germany.
