Harold W. Birckbichler, 91, of Butler unexpectedly left this worldly life, with his wife by his side, to join his Lord and Savior on March 5, 2022, at Concordia of Cabot. Mr. Birckbichler was the son of Fred and Dorothy (Blume) Birckbichler. Born in Butler, Pa on June 23, 1930, he attended Butler schools and enlisted in the US Air Force, serving from 1951 to 1954. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He frequently spoke of his Air Force days. He was employed by Armco Steel for 43 years. Married to Faye Snyder, they spent 63 years together raising their children. After their children were grown, they did extensive traveling through the United States, Canada and Europe, visiting all 50 states and 6 continents. He was a hardworking, self-made man devoted and very supportive of his family and was immensely proud of all their accomplishments. He is survived by brothers, Dale (Flo) Birckbichler, Cletus (Mary Ann) Birckbichler, and sister Carolyn (Paul) Benninger. Left to cherish his memories are children, Cheryl (John) Lamade and Dave Birckbichler both of Medina, Ohio and Brian (Jill) Birckbichler of Blandon, Pa. He also had 7 grandchildren, Matthew (Brittany) and Andrew Lamade, Emma, Samuel, Justin, Kyle and Courtney Birckbichler. His great grandchildren are Wyatt, Ryan and Eli Lamade. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. He often wore a shirt that said, “If I had known grandchildren were so fun, I would have had them first.” In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph and Robert, and sister Violet. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Thursday, March 10th 2022 at All Saints Parish (Saint Peter Roman Catholic Church), 127 Franklin Street, Butler.
