A Harrisburg woman has been accused of stealing the computer of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi during the riot in Washington D.C. earlier this month with plans to sell it to Russian intelligence.
22-year-old Riley June Williams lives with her mother in Harrisburg and faces charges including disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds with the intent to disturb a session of Congress.
An unnamed former “romantic partner” informed the FBI that Williams told him she intended to send the computer to a friend in Russia who then planned to sell the device to Russia’s foreign intelligence service.
Williams can be seen in video footage yelling “upstairs” and pushing people in the direction of Pelosi’s office.
Although Pelosi’s laptop was confirmed to have been stolen during the violent insurrection on January 6, staff members state that it was only used for presentations.
Williams is still believed to have the computer or to have destroyed it.
