Harry Clifford Palmer Jr., 94, of Butler, passed away on October 24, 2023, at the Lowrie Place.
He was born on August 1, 1929, in Cokeville, PA, to the late Harry Palmer Sr. and the late Clare (McLaughlin) Palmer.
Harry proudly served in the United States Navy in both World War II and Korea as a Machinist Mate abord the USS Midway.
Harry was a member of St. John’s Reformed Church and was previously a member of the former Bethany United Church of Christ. A member of the following organizations: Butler-Victory Lodge 272 F&AM; Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of New Castle; Syra Shrine of Pittsburgh; Butler Shrine Luncheon Club; Butler Caravan #14; Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association; Butler County Pilots Association; A founding member of the Moraine Flying Club; Butler Farm Show Association; A life member of the Summit Twp. Sportsman Club; 60 Plus Bowling League.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Jane (Bauer) Palmer who he married on August 21, 1950; two sons, Ronald (Deborah) Palmer and Jay (Kim) Palmer; one daughter, Carol (Jeffrey) King, six grandchildren, Daniel (Lynette) Palmer, Nichole Palmer-Cossu, Brian (Lydia) King, Lorie Beth King, Jason Palmer and Jacob Palmer, two great grandchildren, Logan King, and Carmon King; and one sister, Dolores (John) DiMarco. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held immediately following at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Jarrod Crawford and Pastor Andrew Pepe officiating.
A private interment will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made out to the Veteran’s Organization of one’s choice.
