Hazel M. Kaylor, 100, of Chicora, passed away peacefully Monday, August 26, 2024 at the Chicora Medical Center.
Hazel was born in Chicora on August 21, 1924. She was the daughter of the late John Elmer and Mary Ethel Double Iman.
Hazel attended a one-room school in Donegal Twp. and in her earlier years had been employed at Nellie’s Restaurant in Chicora. Hazel was a devoted and loving homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and keeping an immaculate home. She always looked forward to the company of her family, most especially her grandkids and great grandkids.
Hazel was married on April 26, 1947 at St. Joseph Church in the Village of North Oakland to Robert P. “Bob” Kaylor. Mr. Kaylor preceded her in death on June 15, 2012.
Surviving is a daughter, Kathy Anderson and her husband, Carl, of Chicora; seven grandchildren, Marisa Hefflefinger and her husband, Brian, of Rimersburg, Tracy Ellenberger and her husband, Roy, of Karns City, Larry Byers and his wife, Bobbie, of Saxonburg, Richard Kaylor and his wife, Jessica, of Florida, Lisa Kaylor of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Terry Geibel and his wife, Karoline, of Chicora, and Daniel Geibel (Tesa) of Leechburg; 16 great grandchildren, Austin, Ellie, Scarlett, David, Samantha, Logan, Garrah, Randon, Cameron, Tyler, Allison, Charlie, Tessa, Moneray, Alana, Alivia; a sister, Shirley Meals and her husband, Dennis, of Guys Mills; two daughters-in-law, Chris Kaylor of Butler and Karen Kaylor of Chicora, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, John R. Kaylor and Terry L. Kaylor; a sister, Phyllis Pistorius and her husband, Tom, a great granddaughter, Paisley Ann, and a number of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 1-3 p.m. Thursday. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. from the funeral home with Quality Life Services Chaplain, Pastor Amy Worline, officiating. Interment will follow at Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora.
