A renowned heart surgeon is the latest to enter the Republican primary for to be the next governor of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Nche Zama of the Poconos officially announced his candidacy last week.
In a speech last week Zama said healthcare and economics are at the forefront of his campaign. He believes that the state should be a part of a global economy supported by world-class schools and healthcare system.
Zama joins four other candidates now formally declared for the GOP nomination—former Congressman Lou Barletta, Pittsburgh attorney Jason Richey, former Corry mayor Jason Monn, and Montgomery County Commissioner Joe Gale.
