Today kicks off a two day stretch that will see temperatures rise into the 90s and officials are warning people to take precautions from the dangerous heat.
The National Weather Service says the heat index will rise above 100 during the next two days—which means while temperatures may stay in the 90s, it will feel like it’s above 100 degrees.
As always, during weather like this, avoid strenuous activities, find air conditioning and check in on family members and neighbors. If you do have to be outside, make sure to drink plenty of water, wear light clothing, and watch for heat cramps, exhaustion, and heatstroke.
By Monday—temperatures should return to the low 80s.
