Helen “Charlie” McGreevy, 89 of Butler, passed away on September 23, 2021 at Chicora Medical Center following a brief ailment.
Helen was born in Wilkinsburg on April 7, 1932 to the late Ralph and Edna Bonine. Charlie was the wife of the late James McGreevy whom she married on August 22, 1953.
Charlie enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels, working at Butler Hospital in the Cherry Tree Gift Shop. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, drinking wine, spending time with her family and
traveling with her sister, Saundra. She was also an avid collector of teddy bears.
She is survived by her sons, Terry (Tami) McGreevy and Michael McGreevy; her siblings, Kenneth (Barb) Bonine and Saundra (Ernie) Scholze; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Mike) DeBacco,
Katie McGreevy, Lacey (Paul) McGarrity, Maureen (Jake) Wagner; great grandchildren, Eddie, Isaac, Alexz, Tyren, Jayne & Nora; many nieces and nephews and her great friend, whom she spoke of
highly and often, Sue (Bob) Davis.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband. Jim and her parents.
A private viewing and burial was held. Arrangements by the Young Funeral Home, Butler.
