Helen E. Boben, 99, of Butler, passed away, Sunday October 29, 2023, while residing at Concordia at the Orchard.
She was born August 9, 1924, a daughter of the late William P. and Mildred (Rettig) DeCorte in East Brady, PA as the oldest of 10 children.
She was married for 75 years to the late Harry J. Boben, who passed away Oct. 20, 2023. They lived a beautiful life together.
She was a registered nurse trained at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. She had worked at the Butler Memorial Hospital and the Sunnyview Home.
She was a devout Catholic, who was a longstanding member of All Saints Parish, St Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church. She was a member of the Ladies Guild for many years. ln her early years, she enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and traveling to Florida. She was a loving mother who loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children: Harry Boben, Paula Horne (Tom) and Joe Boben.
Her grandchildren: Jessica Brown (Jason Rothenburger), Wendy Clibbens (John), Shelly Johnston (Matt), Joe Boben (Megan) and Evan Boben (Becky Zdilla).
Her great grandchildren: Carter Vannoy, Haley Vannoy, Jacob Johnston, Joshua Johnston and Clara Boben.
3 sisters: Lola Kirk, Sally Millsop and Mary Lou Bonnett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry J. Boben; grandson, Ben Brown; daughter-in-law Mary Lou Boben, daughter- in-law Anne Boben; 2 sisters Dianne and Linda; 4 brothers William, Richard, John and Joseph.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Wednesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, at 10:00 am, at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 North Main Street Ext in Butler. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Butler. Everyone is asked to please meet at the Church Thursday morning for Mass.
