Helen Paskorz Snyder, age 78 of Chicora, PA. passed away at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler Friday, June 22, 2018 following a lingering illness. She was born in Harwick, PA., Allegheny County, Monday, August 7, 1939 the daughter of the late Michael and Adela Liput Paskorz.
She graduated from Westdeer High School in 1958 and lived in Russelton most of her life until moving to Chicora in 1972
She worked for Scaife Company and Universal Lubricating in Oakmont, then to J & L Steel Company in Pittsburgh, PA until the plant closed in 1981,
She and her husband owned and operated Snyder’s Farm in Chicora raising and selling strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, apples, corn, tomatoes, and other fruits and vegetables. She belonged to different organizations with the farm. She was a member of Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church North Oakland, Chicora and a member of the Christian mothers generously donating her time helping in numerous fund raising activities, particularly the Strawberry Festivals and yearly candy making.
She is survived by her husband James W. Snyder whom she married January 2, 1968, 2 brothers: Michael (Connie) Paskorz Jr. and James (Kathy) Paskorz; 3 nieces: Kim Paskorz, Kathy Jo Paskorz, and Dawn Groves.
Friends will be received at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock and Main Streets, Chicora, PA 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2018 .with Funeral Services Tuesday at Saint Joseph R.C. Church, 864 Chicora Road, North Oakland, Chicora, PA at 11 am. officiated by Father Rick Thompson. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery across the street from the church.
