Anyone interested in learning more about the history of a local attraction are invited to a unique event scheduled for later this week.
On Thursday (August 10th), a park guide at McConnells Mill State Park will lead participants on a hike focusing on Hell’s Hollow from 7pm to 8:30pm.
During the event, participants will hike from the Hell’s Hollow parking lot on Shaffer Road along Hell Run to the waterfall and back. Guests will also have the opportunity to explore unique geology and learn about the history of the valley.
Park staff say that the trail is easy, but participants should wear sturdy shoes and dress for the outdoors.
If participants are coming from the mill, the parking lot is a twelve-minute drive from the covered bridge. The parking lot is also located about four miles south of the Sheetz on Route 422 and 388.
