Herbert F. Hildebrand, 77, of Butler, died Sunday, June 3, 2018, at the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born May 6, 1941 in Jefferson Township, he was a son of the late Henry Hildebrand and Mae (Lutz) Hildebrand.
Herb was a graduate of Knoch High School and worked as a Surgical Technician at the Butler Memorial Hospital, retiring in July of 2006 following 45 years.
He attended St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church in Butler. He was a member of the United States Bowling Cannon (USBC), various bowling leagues in the Butler area, the N.R.A. and was an avid hunter. He played softball in the Butler County Softball Leagues for more than 45 years, was an avid sports and sports trivia fan and had enjoyed his family gatherings, his grandchildren and his friends.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the United States Army.
Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Judith A. (Green) Hildebrand, whom he married January 16, 1970.
2 sons: Stephen D. Hildebrand of Butler and Richard T. (Danielle) Hildebrand of Ellwood City, PA
2 grandsons, Grant and Max, also 1 more grandchild expected soon.
2 brothers: Robert (Darlene) Hildebrand of Petrolia and Ralph (Ruth) Hildebrand of Butler.
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Ruth.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 North Main Street Ext., Butler. The Rev. Nick Argentieri, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Saxonburg Cemetery.
