Herman A. Neff, 84, of Oakland Township, Chicora, PA. passed away peacefully surrounded by all the people he cherished the most on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 in the comfort of his home. He was born Monday, July 27, 1936 in Oakland Township, son of the late Herman W. Neff and the late Mary Agnes Angert Neff.
He was a veteran of the U.S. ARMY serving his country from April 6, 1956 to March 17, 1958. He was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in North Oakland, Chicora, PA.
He was a member of the Chicora American Legion.
His hobbies included classic cars and steam engines. but most of all he enjoyed being surrounded by his family.
He worked Pullman Standard until the plant closed. He owned Neff Brothers Water Well Drilling and oil and gas wells.
He is survived by his wife Bridget A. Elwinger Neff whom he married September 9, 1967.
3 daughters: Deborah Neff, Lucille M. Neff, Veronica M. Neff
2 sons: Matthew C. and Traci Neff ; Arthur W. and Coleen Neff.
Grandchildren: Dustin Rodgers, Emilie Neff, Zachary Neff, Kelsey Neff, Alexis Neff
2 Brothers: Ben Neff, Patrick and Jean Neff.
Sister: Catherine ‘Kate’ and Phil Graham
Proceeded in death by brothers: Jim, Joe, Wendell, Andy, Tom, Jerry, Raymond Neff.
Friends received at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 East Slippery Rock Street in downtown Chicora, Pennsylvania from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2021 and Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 1, 2021 at 10 a.m. Officiated by Father Matt McClain at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 864 Chicora Road, North Oakland, Chicora, PA.
Private burial will be in Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery, North Oakland, Chicora, PA.
Full Military Honors will be conducted by The Chicora and Brady’s Bend American
Legion
