A local community is celebrating an important milestone at a free event planned for this weekend.
The 75th Anniversary of Herman Community Day is planned for Saturday from 3 p.m. to dusk at the Herman Volunteer Fire Company.
The event will be highlighted by a performance from an authentic Hawaiian South Pacific band. The group has performed around the region, including at Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers games. Many in the group are from the Polynesian Islands, and are complete with hula dancers, fire dancing, and more. The group will perform from 4-6 p.m. There will also be a magician performing and music in the evening by The Jentz band.
The evening will also provide the opportunity for visitors to enjoy free food, refreshments, and fireworks. Kids activities include a bounce slide, squirt house, obstacle course, high fly bungee, animal park, and caricatures.
A raffle for gift cards will also take place. Visit the Herman VFC website or Facebook page for more information.
