–Mars defeated Gateway 4-3 in the 5A First Round. The Planets will meet Franklin Regional Friday in the quarterfinals.
–North Catholic defeated Elizabeth Forward 7-1 in the 4A First Round. The Trojans will meet Laurel Highlands Monday in the 4A quarterfinals.
–Knoch fell to Quaker Valley 3-2.
WPIAL Softball Playoffs:
–Knoch defeated Central Valley 4-1. The Knights will meet Elizabeth Forward in the 4A quarterfinals Monday.
–Yough defeated Freeport 3-2 in eight innings.
WPIAL Boys Lacrosse Playoffs:
–Mars-29 Franklin Regional-3. The Planets will meet South Fayette Monday in the 2A semifinals.
–North Catholic-11 Sewickley Academy-2. The Trojans will meet Chartiers Valley in the 2A semifinals.
–The Butler Boys Volleyball team fell 3-1 to Hempfield last night in the quarterfinal round of the WPIAL 3A tournament.
