High School Sports:
Cross Country:
–The Butler High School Cross Country teams swept Hampton Tuesday at Hartwood Acres. The Tornado Girls defeated Hampton 21-to-34. Jennifer Cichra, Autumn Pettinato and Chelsey Kabel swept the top three spots, helping the Butler Girls improve to 4-1 this season.
–The Butler Boys were led by C.J. Singleton and Sage Vavro who took the top two spots – as Butler won 18-to-44. The Boys are 5-0.
Both teams will host state power North Allegheny and Shaler Tuesday.
Girls Golf:
–Butler completed their regular season with a 179-193 victory over Shaler at Hiland Golf Course. Paige Scott led the Golden Tornado with a 36. Landis Ruth had a 43. Scott will be competing in the WPIAL Triple-A individual finals October 2nd at the Diamond Run Golf Course. The Golden Tornado completed the regular season 11-2 overall and 8-2 in section play.
Boys Golf:
–Seneca Valley-206 Butler-226. Todd Hangliter of the Raiders was medalist with a 39. Nolan Nicklas and Jimmy Stoltenberghad 40’s. Lucas Slear led Butler with a 43.
Girls Soccer:
–Freeport-1 Highlands-0. Sidney Shemanski scored the only goal of the game, as the Yellow Jackets improved to 7-2.

–Seneca Valley-6 North Hills-0.
–North Allegheny defeated Pine-Richland 3-2 in overtime.
–Mars-4 Gateway-1.
–Kiski Area-10 Knoch-0.
Girls Tennis:

Butler’s # 2 doubles team of Jillian Clark & Cameron Hanratty lost in first round play to Pine Richlands # 1 team Elle stokes & Megan Wilson 10-2
