In High School Baseball Monday on a snowy April Day:
–Butler defeated Pine-Richland 9-4. Connor Ollio struck out seven in five innings. Ryan Lynn drove in two runs for the Golden Tornado.
–Karns City-5 Moniteau-4. Steve O’Donnell and Cameron Blair drove in two runs each for the Gremlins. Wyatt Geibel led the Warriors with two hits and scored twice.
(both games were played at the old historic Pullman Park in Butler).
–Meadville-4 Grove City-1.

Butler high school graduate Mick Fennell has signed to play baseball with the Washington Wild Things. Fennell was recently released by the St. Louis Cardinals following spring training. He played at Single-A Peoria last year. After graduating from Butler, Fennell went to California University of Pennsylvania, where he became one of their all-time leading hitters. He was named the PSAC player of the year his senior season.
