High School Sports:
–Pine-Richland head football coach Eric Kasperowicz will not return as the school district decided not to renew his contract. Kasperowicz had an 85-18 overall record in his eight seasons at the helm of the Rams program. Under his direction Pine-Richland won four WPIAL titles and two state championships.
–A very impressive night for the Butler Boys and Girls Track and Field teams as they swept North Allegheny. The Boys won 102-48 by taking first place in 15 of the 18 events. Guinness Brown won the 100, 200 and 400-meter dashes. CJ Singleton won the mile and two-mile runs. Landon Kretzer took the discus and javelin.
The Butler Girls won all seven field events, with seven different winners in their 88-62 victory. Emma Lehman won the 100 and 300-meter hurdles and was part of both the 400 and 1600-meter relay team wins. Both teams improved to 7-0 overall and will compete in the Tri-State Invitational Saturday at West Mifflin.
–North Catholic’s Nicholas Scheller captured the WPIAL Class 2A Tennis Singles championship with a 6-1, 6-1 set victory over Mike Sirianni of Quaker Valley.
Baseball:
–Butler defeated Central Catholic 6-4.
–The Butler JV defeated Central Catholic 7-4. James Desmond had three hits and drove in three as the Golden Tornado improved to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in their section.

–Hickory-9 Slippery Rock-4 in eight innings.
–AC Valley-16 Union-5 in six innings.
–Grove City-4 Greenville-3.
Indiana defeated Freeport 4-0 in the PIHL Class 1A Hockey semifinals.
