High School Sports:
Baseball:
–Butler-5 Pine-Richland-4. Cooper Baxter earned the victory on the mound for the Golden Tornado.
–Butler JV fell to the Rams 7-2.
–Seneca Valley shut-out Allderdice 12-0 in five innings.
–Meadville-7 Slippery Rock-5.
–North Allegheny-8 Central Catholic-1.
–North Catholic-6 Indiana-1.
–Mars-11 Central Valley-2.
–Grove City-14 Conneaut-1 in six innings.
–The Butler high school Track & Field teams swept Shaler Monday. The Butler Girls won 140-10. The Butler Boys won 135-11. Landon Kretzer won all three of his field events. Lucas Slear took four first-place finishes. Guinness Brown ran the 300-hurdles for the first time and took first with a time of 40.92 seconds.
Both Butler teams improved to 8-0 this season and will be hosting the 56th annual Butler Invitational this weekend. The Boy’s events begin at 12:15pm Friday. Girl’s events are Saturday, also beginning at 12:15pm.
–The Karns City Girls Track & Field team defeated Keystone 106-40.
–North Allegheny defeated Mt. Lebanon 4-1 last night to win the PIHL Class 3A championship.
–Indiana won their first PIHL championship when they defeated Chartiers Valley 3-2 to win the 1A title. Indiana completed a 20-0 PIHL season, and have won 25 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Softball:
–Highlands-18 Butler-7 in six innings.
–Shaler over Mars 13-3 in five innings.
–Grove City-9 Slippery Rock-4.
Boys Lacrosse:
–Seneca Valley-11 Peters Township-9.
