High School Sports:
–The Knoch Girls Cross Country team won their first section title in school history last week, completing the regular season 11-0. The Boys finished runner-up in their section for the second straight year, finishing 9-1 overall. The teams will compete in the WPIAL Championships at California University October 24th.
Both teams also competed in the Grove City Invitational Saturday. The Knoch Girls finished seventh overall. Sammy Jo Barnes finished fifth overall individually. The Knoch Boys finished fourth.
Boys Soccer:
–Butler-4 Freeport-1. Landon Mohney scored twice for the Golden Tornado.
Girls Soccer:
–Freeport defeated Valley 4-0. Sidney Shemanski netted two goals for the Yellow Jackets.
–The Butler JV Hockey team tied North Hills 2-2 Friday night. Landon Romett and Braydon Povlick scored the Butler goals.
–The Golden Tornado varsity team will host Upper St. Clair tonight at the Frozen Pond. Face-off is 9:10pm. The game is free to attend. Their is a 50/50 raffle during the game to support the team.
