The PIAA Westen Regional Golf Championships were held Monday at Tom’s Run Golf Club at Chestnut Ridge. –
Pine-Richland’s Lauren Freyvogel won the Girls 3a Championship with a +2 over 74. Natalie Welsh of Mars finished tied for fifth with an 80. Both advance to the PIAA championship. Maddie Smithco of Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic was the runner-up in Class 2A. She was one shot of the pace with a 77.
–Seneca Valley’s Mark McNulty was among the qualifiers for the state championships in Boys Class 3A along with Pine-Richland’s Donnie Professori and Rico Sciulli.
–In Class 2A, Weston Kimmey of Moniteau qualified for the PIAA championship. Tre Barlony of Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic tied for third overall with a 77.
Boys Soccer:
–Butler-12 Penn Hills-0. Tate Mohney of Butler scored five goals.
–Mars-6 Indiana-2. Shane Lisman had a hat trick for the Planets.
–Dubois-4 Karns City-0.
Girls Soccer:
–Butler-3 Canon-McMillan-2. First win for the Golden Tornado at Big Mac Stadium in mored than a dozen years. Brittnie Spithaler led Butler with two goals. Aiden Trettel added the other. Butler will host Penn Hills Wednesday in their final regular season game.

–Freeport-4 Deer Lakes-3. Kaylee Comperatore led the Yellow Jackets with two goals. Freeport completes the regular season 14-2-1 overall. They finished 11-0-1 as section champions.

–AC Valley-3 Keystone-0. Josie Terwilliger had 13-kills and eight digs for the Falcons. Kylee Eaton had 11-kills and eight digs.
–Karns City-3 Moniteau-0. Livia Andreassi had six kills and four blocks to lead the Gremlins.
WPIAL Section-2 Triple-A Girls Tennis Doubles Tournament:
–Butler’s-#1 Doubles team of Teddi Isherwood and Reagan Sommariva have reached the championship round. They defeated Pine-Richland’s-#2 team of Katherine Stencil and Abby Nardulli 10-1 in the quarterfinals, then defeated the Mars-#1 team of Amelia Haley & Emily Ivory 6-2, 7-5 in the semi-finals. They meet the Pine-Richland #1 team in the championship today at 2:30pm at North Allegheny high school.
