High School Sports:
The Butler High School Hockey team have won their first two games in the Steven Bryan Memorial Tournament at Belmont Ice Complex in Kittanning. The Golden Tornado defeated Chartiers Valley 6-5 Monday night led by a hat trick from Brody Simlo. Butler defeated Indiana 4-2 Tuesday with Simko netting another goal. Other Butler goal-scorers were Brayden Povlick and Parker Worlsey scored goals for the Golden Tornado, with Trevor Ackelson getting an empty-net goal. Butler will face-off against Cathedral Prep tonight at 7pm.
Girls Soccer:
–Avonworth defeated North Catholic 2-1. It was the first loss of the season for the Trojanettes.

–Knoch-2 Armstrong-1.
–Mars-3 Central Valley-0.
–Norwin-1 Seneca Valley-0.
The Knoch Girls Cross Country team remained perfect with a sweep of Freeport and Riverview Tuesday. Yumiko Kuo led all runners with a time of 22:13 as the Knights improved to 8-0.
–The Knoch Boys were swept in their meet.
Boys Golf:
–North Allegheny and Mars tied at 207 – with the Tigers winning the playoff.
Girls Volleyball:
–Knoch-3 Higlands-0.
–North Catholic-3 Avonworth-1. The Trojanettes improved to 6-0 after winning a showdown of the top teams in Class 2A.
