After a break last week with more comfortable temperatures, the hot weather is back in Butler County.
The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh is forecasting a high of 87 on Monday.
At least one utility company is asking customers to conserve energy. Central Electric Cooperative has put a ‘Peak Alert’ in place from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and are asking residents to turn off all non-essential electric items like dehumidifiers and pool pumps.
CEC says if they can reduce the amount of electricity purchased during high-demand periods, it helps keep energy costs down.
Central Electric provides power to some customers in Butler County.
