The developer of a Highfield housing plan will move forward with a 100 unit plan after a judge ruled against a larger plan.
Butler County Court of Common Pleas Judge Tom Doerr upheld the decision of the Butler Township Zoning Hearing Board against a challenge by developer Great Living LLC at the end of November.
The developer of the 39 acre Highfield Trails plan on South Duffy and Highfield Roads was then given 30 days to consider appealing that decision to a higher court.
That time lapsed without action at the end of 2021 so the Butler Township Commissioners formally rejected the 112 unit proposal due to density concerns at their meeting earlier this week.
In April of last year, the Commissioners granted approval for a Highfield development plan with 100 units and they recently approved a 90 day extension of that plan that will allow construction to begin sometime before the middle of this April.
