Local public, private, parochial, and charter schools as well as vocational high schools are invited to apply to receive funding from an annual grant program.
The Highmark Foundation’s School Grant and Awards Program is making money available to K-12 schools in Pennsylvania and West Virginia for the eighth year.
A total of $450,000 is available to help schools create healthier environments through purchases that address areas including bullying prevention, environmental health, healthy eating, and physical activity. The deadline to submit applications online is March 31st.
Three years ago, Butler Area School District received $15,000 in grant money through this program that was used for fitness equipment at the Senior High and Intermediate schools.
