The public is welcome to learn more about our local history with a presentation coming up this week.
Local historian and storyteller Bill May will present a program titled “History of Alameda Park – Butler’s Disneyland” on Thursday, Aug. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the park’s Carousel Shelter in Butler Township.
May will take those who attend on a journey back to the early 1900s when Alameda was an amusement park. The talk will include rare photographs, video clips, and stories about celebrities who performed at the park- as well as a virtual ride on a figure eight roller coaster.
This free, 60-minute presentation is sponsored by the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department.
