A teenager is continuing to recover and a driver is facing charges following a hit-and-run crash last week in southern Butler County.
The crash happened about 7:30 p.m. Thursday on Haine School Road in Cranberry Township. Police say a 19-year-old woman who was jogging along the side of the road was struck from behind by a car.
Michael Mesecke, 25, was arrested late Thursday night but later released from jail. Police say he admitted to drinking before the crash but told officers he had no recollection of hitting the woman.
Mesecke was charged with an accident involving death or injury, failure to give information or render aid and reckless driving. He could not be charged with DUI because too much time had passed between the accident and when he was arrested.
