The Slippery Rock University History Department is sponsoring a free program next week to continue the memory of the Holocaust.
“The Holocaust Remembrance Program” is planned for Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:15 p.m. at the Miller Theater in the Performing Arts Center.
Author Judy Batalion, will share a talk titled after her book “The Light of Days: The Untold Story of Women Resistance Fighters in Hitler’s Ghettos”. This gathering will also include a performance on flute and piano by a couple of SRU music faculty of a piece written by a Dutch Jewish composer who died at the Auschwitz concentration camp.
As part of this event, the Slippery Rock University Holocaust Remembrance Program will be renamed in honor of SRU political science professor Richard Martin who began this program in the 1990s.
