A group of regional healthcare leaders are urging safety in health care settings following last week’s shooting at a York County hospital.
The Western PA Regional Chief Medical Officers Consortium issued a statement this week saying that last week’s shooting “reminds us about the increased frequency of violence in health care settings.”
The medical leaders of area hospitals say that they are committed to access and safe interactions. They also ask community members to reject extreme language, violence, or weapons when in health care settings.
The doctors urge others to speak out if they see signs of harm in hospitals.
