Expect “abnormally warm temperatures” throughout Western Pennsylvania later this week according to the National Weather Service.
A strong ridge of high pressure is causing record highs in the southwest and southern parts of the United States. That strong ridge will be traveling east, bringing warm moist air.
That warm moist air will bring highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s later this week. National Weather Service Meteorologist Lee Hendricks says be prepared to be uncomfortable outside for the next week.
“It’s going to continue to pump our temperatures up and bring some humidity that is going to make it uncomfortable toward the end of the week,” Hendricks said.
Hendricks also said during peak heat if you have to go outside wear light colored clothing and make sure pets are not left outside for extended periods, along with readily available water.
