Another round of hot weather is in store for Butler County Monday.
The National Weather Service says that temperatures will approach 90 degrees. However, wind is likely to be calmer today than it was over the weekend.
With the hot weather, Central Electric Cooperative is issuing its first peak alert of the season. That means CEC is asking you to conserve power by turning off all non-essential electric items and set your air conditioner at a minimum of 78 degrees during the peak hours of use, which is between 1-7 p.m.
Also, they ask to use dehumidifiers, pool pumps, and electric appliances to hours outside the peak period.
There is a small chance of showers and thunderstorms later this afternoon.
The stretch of hot weather is expected to continue for the next two days—although rain is more likely on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Temperatures become more comfortable by the end of the week according to the NWS.
