Butler City Council is moving forward with a project to make improvements at Ritts Park.
At their Thursday night meeting, Council members accepted a bid from Wiest Paving in the amount of $39,000 for the Ritts Park Pickleball Courts project. This was the lowest of two bids received for the work which is expected to be completed sometime this fall.
Council also accepted a bid from Gargiulo Landscaping out of Prospect in the amount of nearly $65,000 for the rebuilding and restoration of the Ritts Park Memorial Seating project. This was the only bid received for this work which is also expected to take place sometime this fall.
Earlier this year, the Department of Community and Economic Development approved a Greenways, Trails, and Recreation Program grant of nearly $125,000 to upgrade Ritts Park in the City of Butler.
This project will also include a 10 station Fit Trail, walkway restoration, and landscaping.
