A project to improve the sidewalks at the Tier Parking Garage in downtown Butler is nearly complete.
Troy Jay Construction of Slippery Rock recently completed the work over the course of a week at a cost of just over $28,000. The money came from a line item in the city’s budget for maintenance at the Tier Garage.
“We’re so happy to finally get this taken care of because our motto has always been to provide safe, well-maintained, convenient, and economic parking,” Butler City Parking Manager Jim Chiprean said. “This is just an area that needed to be done.”
The work included the installation of ADA-compliant sidewalks, curbs, and detectable warning service mats, as well as the repairing of cracks and grinding of trip hazards.
