Butler officially has a new mayor.
Longtime city resident and councilman Bob Dandoy became the 21st mayor in the City of Butler at a swearing in ceremony earlier today.
In his first address, Dandoy said that working toward a positive goal together was the best way forward.
“I want us to join together and work from a common perspective that Butler is a good community, and that together we can make Butler better,” Dandoy said.
During his address, Dandoy also took time to thank former Mayor Ben Smith, who was at the ceremony, along with former councilmen Kenny Bonus and Jeff Smith.
Dandoy was also joined by two new members of council who were also sworn in, Larry Christy and Don Shearer.
“I ask everyone that the city employs to approach their work with diligence, dedication, congeniality, and good humor,” Dandoy said. “Every positive action between our city representatives and those who work or recreates within our city borders improves our quality of life and increases our chances of continued success.”
