The race for two spots on Butler City Council will see one go to an incumbent while the other goes to a newcomer.
According to unofficial results, of the just over 3,000 votes cast over 35% went to current Councilman Democrat Daniel Herr.
After being appointed to finish a partial term in February of last year, Herr will now serve a full four year term on the five-member Council.
Independent Troy Douthett who is a political newcomer and Butler City construction worker finished second with nearly 33% of the vote.
He is expected to take over the seat currently held by Councilman Fred Reese who was appointed upon the passing of Mike Walter.
Former Mayor Tom Donaldson, who was the sole Republican candidate on the ballot, finished in third place on the ballot with 31 percent of the vote.
