Today is July 4th, and that means many offices and businesses are closed.
All government buildings are shut down for the day, and mail will not be delivered.
Banks are closed as well. And the Butler Transit Authority will not be operating the buses today.
PennDOT driver license centers are closed, but many services can still be found on their website.
Many communities will be celebrating Independence Day with a number of activities.
In Zelienople, they will be holding their long-running tradition of a July 4th Parade. It begins at 11 a.m. on East Grandview and goes down Main Street before wrapping up at the Community Park.
Harrisville is also having their 4th of July parade at 11 a.m. The parade will start at the fire house.
Mars, meanwhile, is having a whole host of activities throughout the afternoon. They have events slated from noon until 4 p.m. in their downtown area.
The City of Butler will have their fireworks show tonight following the Butler Blue Sox game at Michelle Krill Field at Historic Pullman Park. The estimated start time is 9 p.m.
