An independent panel that was investigating the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump in Butler found that the Secret Service had poor communication that day, but also systemic issues at the agency.
The 52-page report was compiled by four former law enforcement officials from national and state government.
The report also found, like previous investigations, the Secret Service had poor communication that day and a lack of a plan for the surrounding buildings.
However, it also called for new, outside leadership to refocus on the Secret Service’s protective mission.
