After remaining silent for almost a decade, the sounds are back atop the Butler County Courthouse.
According to County Commissioner Kevin Boozel, the bell had been broken for nearly a decade and was finally fixed this week thanks to John Campbell director of facilities and operations.
“When I got to meet with John and the other commissioners, I said ‘Why don’t we make it work?,'” Boozel said. “So John did his magic and stuff and we just got it working.”
Boozel said most of the work was done in-house, so no contracts were needed to make the improvements.
The clock now will ring at every hour, with Boozel saying it will be louder at noon.
