A popular event will return to the streets of downtown Butler this weekend.
The Butler Italian Festival is back for a 4th year.
Organizers believe that the event will be bigger and better this year- with more vendors, more live music, more kids activities, and more food. A meatball eating contest is planned for 6 p.m. Saturday and the Butler County Star of Italy Pageant will be held at noon on Sunday.
The festival runs Friday through Sunday on Butler’s Main Street, which will be closed from Cunningham to Brady Streets for the majority of the weekend.
Main Street will be closed starting at 1:30 p.m. today from Brady to Cunningham Streets.
That stretch will then remain closed until 10 p.m. Sunday.
Police say to follow the detour and expect parking changes over the next three days.
